General questions

  1. What methods of payment can I use?

We do not yet have the facilities to accept credit cards. Personal checks, money orders, cashier's checks, and cash are all acceptable. (We do not recommend sending cash through the mail.)

  2. Do I need to pay up front, or can I wait until I receive the finished product?

We will be happy to invoice you once the work is finished, or on a monthly basis for long-term projects. However, no copies of the recorded work will be given to the client until payment is received.

  3. Do you have references who can attest to the quality of MSB's work?

Yes, please see the references page.

Questions relating to transfers and mastering

  1. Do I have to send my original copies of all the source material?

The best transfers can be made from the original source material. If you have extremely rare or irreplaceable masters, we recommend shipping them via Federal Express. If you are still uncomfortable with sending them, we can work from copies, but please be aware that the finished product may be inferior to what could be accomplished with the original source material.

  2. How long will it take for my order to be completed?

This depends on the size and complexity of your order. An average time estimate is two weeks, but this can vary widely. Please contact us with your specific situation in order to get a more accurate estimate. Rush orders are available.

  3. Where do I send my order?

If you are using the U.S. Postal Service, send your materials to:

    Morris Studios Bloomington
    P.O. Box 2661
    Bloomington, IN 47402-2661

If you are using another carrier (such as FedEx, UPS, etc.), please contact us in advance for an alternate shipping address.

  4. What methods of shipping are available?

We generally send orders via U.S. Priority Mail, but can send via most other methods or carriers. Please let us know if you want a different form of shipping.

  5. Can you give me a cost estimate on noise reduction?

This is the service for which it is hardest to give an estimate without first hearing the source material. If you send your media, we can give an estimate free of charge. If you are not satisfied with the price, we will happily return your items at no cost to you.

Questions relating to studio and location recording

  1. What are the hours of operation of the studio?

Studio sessions are generally held in the evenings or on weekends, but MSB can work around your schedule. Please contact us to let us know what times are best, and we will let you know what times are available.

  2. How far in advance do I need to book?

We prefer bookings at least two weeks in advance. The earlier you let us know that you wish to use the studio or that you have a live engagement, the more likely we will be able to accomodate you. Contact us with your desired time(s) and we will work out a mutually agreeable schedule. Short-notice sessions (scheduled 48 hours or less in advance) cost $45/hour and are subject to availability.
